Rachel grew up in the Auburn area and has always been proud to call it her home. After completing her BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley, starting her career in public service and going back to school to get her Master’s in Business Administration from CSU Sacramento, Rachel moved back to Auburn with her husband to raise their family.

Over the past 13 years, Rachel has devoted her career to public service. In 2007, she was selected by the American Society of Civil Engineers to serve as their National Science and Technology Policy Fellow in Washington DC. Working for Senator Dianne Feinstein, she learned first-hand about federal policymaking and used her knowledge and skills as an engineer to work on pressing societal challenges. Most recently, Rachel has spent 12 years working in public power to create and promote energy conservation and customer assistance programs. She is a Certified Energy Manager with an extensive background in electric vehicles, energy efficiency, solar, battery storage energy, account management, and strategic planning.
